How Hard it is to Trust Your Own Wings

Words spoken in conversation today. Finding your feet just to lose them again.

I see it all around me. I see it in the risks my friends are taking. Giant leaps. Following their hearts and their dreams. I see it in my daughters. I see them trying new things and experiencing the earned feelings of competency.

All of this I want to soak up!

Creating the Image: Sharing a few steps along the way

When my daughter practices her driving, I get to photograph! The clouds were incredible this afternoon, so off we went with camera and permit.

With this thought in mind, how hard it is to trust your own wings sometimes, I looked for a portrait that might fit. Added portrait in SuperimposeX and then added a blur filter in LensDistortions.

I played around in iColorama until I saw this. I liked the position of the portrait here, even the split screen, though I ended up making the left side open using Procreate.

Layering this painting over next.

Final Image

“to use my camera and believe that my subconscious seeks these things out brings a strange sort of comfort to me. To be able to express the things I can’t quite find the words for feels essential” -Suzie Goldsmith, The Rallying Cry
