Fearless

I started with an image of my daughter. I chose this ‘in-between’ moment, because her body posture looks like it is in preparation. She’s getting ready for something big. I first thought of her facing wind or something like that. As I was looking through my images, I came across this dragon. This statue was created by a local artist, Clyde Wynia, and his work can be found throughout Marshfield. Local treasures. This particular image was taken while my daughter and I were driving around taking photos. The background image was a vacation photo from our trip to Colorado. I used a cloud image, one I use often, and two paintings/paint textures.

Apps used: Superimpose X, Lens Distortions, Paint Can, Retouch, Mextures, and Lightroom Mobile.

This one reminds me a little of a book I used to read to her, The Paper Bag Princess, by Robert Munsch. It’s about a young girl who saves herself and the prince, in a reversal of the classic stereotype. I love that this particular dragon image was taken when we were together photographing. She’s grown so much since those days of children’s bedtime stories. What a privilege to witness!
